India is on a shopping spree for defence equipment with a push towards building air defence and aerial power. Following Operation Sindoor, India increased its defence budget by $5.8 Billion. Now, India's top defence purchasing body (DAC) led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to sign deals worth Rs 1 Lakh Crore. DAC is expected to buy new air defence missiles including QR-SAMS. Further, Indian Navy is eyeing underwater autonomous vehicles. Indian Air Force (IAF) too wishes to buy SU-30 fighter jets and three new spy planes under Star-I programme.
