Saudi Arabia has reported a major new escalation involving Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis, with 73 civilians reportedly wounded in attacks targeting civilian and economic sites across Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.
The Houthi attacks involved missiles and drones and reportedly struck energy-sector facilities, oil infrastructure and other strategic targets in southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities said fires broke out at several energy facilities and that some operations were temporarily halted. The Houthis, meanwhile, claimed the attacks were carried out in response to Saudi military strikes in Yemen.
