Sonnenfinsternis: Wann ihr sie heute sehen könnt
Am Mittwochabend gibt es ein seltenes Spektakel am Himmel zu sehen: eine Sonnenfinsternis. Zwischen 19.11 Uhr und 21.03 Uhr schiebt sich der Mond vor die Sonne und in weiten Teilen Westeuropas wird es dann dämmerig oder ganz dunkel. Ihren Höhepunkt erreicht sie um kurz nach 20 Uhr. Dabei wird die Sonne in Deutschland zu 85 bis 90 Prozent vom Neumond bedeckt sein.Eine normale Sonnenbrille ist kein ausreichender Schutz und auch der indirekte Blick beispielsweise durch das Smartphone kann das menschliche Auge schädigen. Um die Sonnenfinsternis beobachten zu können, empfiehlt das Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz ausschließlich spezielle Brillen und Lochkameras. Ein direkter Blick in die Sonne könne bleibende Schäden in den Augen verursachen. Die speziellen Schutz- oder Folienbrillen weisen besondere Filtereigenschaften auf: Sie dürfen höchstens 0,001 Prozent des Sonnenlichts durchlassen. Die Brillen sollten laut dem Bundesamt mit EU-Norm als sicher für den direkten Blick in die Sonne gekennzeichnet sein.
