Perintah tersebut disampaikan pada Rabu (11/6/2025) malam waktu setempat, di tengah buntunya perundingan nuklir dengan Iran.
Dikutip dari Reuters, Trump menilai Timur Tengah akan menjadi tempat yang berbahaya jika Iran punya senjata nuklir.
Oleh karena itu, AS sampai kapan pun tetap tidak setuju jika Teheran memiliki senjata pemusnah massal.
"Ya, mereka dipindahkan karena itu bisa menjadi tempat yang berbahaya," ucap Trump, Rabu (11/6/2025).
Saat ini, AS juga sedang mempersiapkan evakuasi sebagian kedutaan besarnya di Irak karena alasan keamanan.
Laporan dari seorang pejabat menyebutkan bahwa personel AS juga dipindahkan dari Kuwait dan Bahrain.
Trump telah berulang kali mengancam akan menyerang Iran jika perundingan yang tersendat mengenai program nuklirnya gagal.
Seolah tak mau kalah, Menteri Pertahanan Iran Aziz Nasirzadeh juga mengancam akan menargetkan pangkalan militer AS di Timur Tengah jika terjadi konflik.
Namun, ia berharap situasi tidak akan memburuk.
Adapun perundingan nuklir AS dengan Iran telah berlangsung dalam lima putaran.
Pemimpin tertinggi Iran Ali Khamenei telah secara tegas menolak usulan AS dan tetap melanjutkan program pengayaan uranium.
