Adapun tentara IDF itu mau menjadi mata-mata Iran dengan imbalan kompensasi finansial.
Dikutip dari The Times of Israel, Badan Keamanan Shin Bet dan Kepolisian Israel mengumumkan tentara IDF yang membelot itu.
Prajurit tersebut ditahan setelah penyelidikan yang dipimpin oleh Shin Bet.
Penyelidikan itu juga melibatkan unit kejahatan besar Lahav 433 kepolisian dan polisi militer setempat.
Dakwaan terhadap tentara IDF yang menjadi mata-mata Iran diajukan ke jaksa militer Israel pada Kamis (17/7).
Shin Bet melaporkan tentara IDF itu secara sadar menjalin komunikasi dengan Iran.
Bahkan tentara IDF itu menjalankan tugas-tugas untuk Teheran, termasuk mengirim rekaman dan lokasi-lokasi dampak serangan roket.
Shin Bet mengatakan insiden ini “sangat serius” karena tentara Israel “mempertahankan kontak dengan musuh.”
Jaksa militer mendakwa prajurit tersebut dengan “kontak dengan agen asing dan transmisi informasi kepada musuh.”
Pengadilan militer memerintahkan agar prajurit tersebut tetap ditahan hingga 22 Juli.
Meskipun penahanannya diperkirakan akan diperpanjang lebih lanjut di tengah persidangan.
