Yoshua Bengio, Geoffrey Hinton, Yann LeCun, Andrew Ng, and Stanley Osher organized a powerhouse program on unsupervised machine learning in 2012. "Deep Learning, Feature Learning" was a CAN-US collaboration between IPAM at UCLA and CIFAR, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. The three week school hosted 24 speakers giving multi-part presentations, with a focus on learning representations of the perceptual world.
