What Losing Money Taught Me About Winning | Divam Juneja | TEDxSukhna Lake

At 16, he entered the world of investing with curiosity, confidence and a little money borrowed from his father. He lost it. Then he lost more. But those early failures taught him lessons that no YouTube video or textbook could.

Over time, the question changed—from “How much can I make?” to “How much can I afford to lose?” He learned that markets reward discipline over excitement, that asking the right questions matters more than having all the answers, and that real learning comes from mistakes.

Today, as he works with investments and capital allocation, he looks beyond the markets to a much bigger question: how do we prepare for a future we cannot predict? Divam Juneja is the Founder of Juneja Ventures LLP and a young investor representing a new generation of disciplined wealth creators in India. He began his investing journey at the age of 15, developing an early interest in macroeconomics and financial markets that shaped his approach to long-term investing. Today, he leads strategic investments across private equity, pre-IPO opportunities and public markets, while heading a team of financial professionals. With a vision to build India's leading incubation and acceleration platform for new-age businesses, alongside a respected asset management company, Divam is focused on creating opportunities that support innovation and entrepreneurial growth. His journey reflects the power of starting early, thinking independently and making conviction-led decisions in an ever-evolving investment landscape. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx Receive SMS online on sms24.me
