LIVE: Indian Air Force's New "Tejas" Leap To Have Israeli Advanced Tech | Spotlight | N18GIndia's defence ambitions are hitting supersonic speed as the Indian Air Force prepares to induct the first batch of Tejas Mk 1A fighter jets—homegrown aircraft packed with advanced radar, electronic warfare systems, and Rafale-grade missiles. Equipped with Israeli AESA radar and cutting-edge helmet-mounted sights, the Mk-1A represents a powerful leap forward in indigenous airpower. Each of the 83 aircraft ordered in the new variant will be fitted with multimillion-dollar Israeli systems manufactured in India in partnership with local companies, in line with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's “Make in India” policy, which requires local production of all defense equipment. In parallel, India is also weighing a $3.6 billion investment in locally made missile systems to bolster its air shield.
