Why Did India Ignore Jharkhand's Students?When students were beaten at Jantar Mantar, the whole country reacted and a minister resigned within days. The same protest has been running in Ranchi since that day, and it is on day 21 with almost nobody watching. Same demand, same lathis, different pin code.

JSSC CGL, 2,025 posts and 6.4 lakh applicants, a paper that leaked on exam morning, a re-exam where the internet shutdown meant to stop cheating also stopped news of it from getting out. Then the 14th JPSC, missing category wise cutoffs, a merit list without signatures, and a lathicharge on 10 August.
At the same time, this movement is not apolitical either. Its face is a party leader. Congress calls this government anti youth while sitting in its cabinet, and BJP calls a bandh after calling Delhi's protesters anti national.
In a state that sits on the country's mineral wealth and still ranks bottom on the poverty index, a government job is not a job. It is a family's only exit. This is not about one exam. It is about who gets heard.
