Permintaan itu disampaikan dalam pertemuan multilateral di sela Sidang Majelis Umum PBB di New York, Selasa (23/9/2025).
Menlu RI Sugiono mengatakan, para pemimpin Arab seperti Arab Saudi, Uni Emirat Arab, Qatar, Mesir, Yordania,
dan Pakistan berharap AS terlibat langsung untuk mendorong gencatan senjata.
Menurut Sugiono, pertemuan tersebut juga memberi gambaran kepada Trump mengenai kondisi nyata di kawasan Timur Tengah.
Dilaporkan para pemimpin meminta keterlibatan AS dalam menciptakan perdamaian sekaligus mempercepat solusi dua negara bagi Palestina dan Israel.
Sementara itu, Prabowo sendiri menegaskan kesiapan Indonesia berkontribusi dalam proses perdamaian.
Ia bahkan menyatakan siap mengirim 20.000 personel pasukan penjaga perdamaian atas mandat Dewan Keamanan PBB.
Di satu sisi, Trump disebut menanggapi positif usulan tersebut dan melihat konflik Gaza.
Sebagai bencana kemanusiaan yang harus segera diakhiri.
