Menurut Herman, memang sudah seharusnya DPR lebih terbuka kepada masyarakat ke depannya.
Herman menyatakan pada Jumat (5/9), sejatinya dalam gelaran rapat memang harus membawa kepentingan rakyat
"Bahkan sejatinya dalam rapat-rapat pun harus membawa kepentingan rakyat," kata Herman Khaeron kepada wartawan, Jumat (5/9/2025).
Lebih lanjut Herman menjelaskan, DPR sudah membentuk Badan Aspirasi Masyarakat.
Hal itu bertujuan sebagai wadah untuk menampung aspirasi dan tuntutan masyarakat.
Pihaknya juga berharap para legislator bisa lebih memiliki waktu lebih banyak berdialog dengan masyarakat.
Legislator Komisi VI DPR itu juga ingin pemerintah proaktif dalam melanjutkan aspirasi dari DPR.
"Jika perlu, rumah aspirasi diperbanyak dengan melibatkan tim pendukung dalam menampung dan menyerap aspirasi yang berkembang. Pada sisi lain, pemerintah juga sebagai pelaksana anggaran dan regulator diwajibkan untuk menjalankan berbagai rekomendasi DPR sesuai aspirasinya masyarakat," tandasnya.
Sebagai informasi, koalisi sipil yang terdiri dari aktivis hingga influencer menyampaikan 17+8 tuntutan seusai aksi unjuk rasa pada Agustus 2025 lalu.
Penyerahan tuntutan tersebut ke DPR RI dilakukan oleh perwakilan Kolektif 17+8 Indonesia Berbenah pada Kamis (4/9).
Diketahui, koalisi sipil meminta tuntutan "17+8" dari rakyat segera dipenuhi dalam waktu sepekan hingga 5 September.
Sedangkan, 8 tuntutan tambahan baru, harus diselesaikan pada Agustus 2026.
