Le Deepfake non comme un crime, mais comme l'héritier de cinq siècles de désir humain de gouverner par l'image.À Novopolis dans l’Auvergne, Milovan Krleza, le concepteur d’une smart city a mystérieusement disparu. Sa ville construite pour les ouvriers d’une société de Télécom, est en train de se retourner contre ses habitants. Derrière la fable féroce, le questionnement de nos existences algorithmiques et de la place du faux sous forme d’un faux journal télévisé.
Sur ce fond fictionnel, raconté avec des fausses archives, PhantasIA déploie le débat. Le philosophe Yves Citton distingue le deepfake qui trompe, du contre-factuel qui accroit les pouvoirs de l’imaginaire. Dans l’abécédaire de l’IA, à l’entrée Deepfake, Charles Bodon va plus loin et propose une exploration iconoclaste de cette notion.
Une expérience menée au Havre par l’artiste Grégory Chatonsky explore de manière concrète ces questions: une IA entraînée sur les archives de la ville produit une ville fantôme entre passé, présent et avenir.
