Kepala BBMKG Wilayah II Medan Hendro Nugroho menjelaskan, pihaknya menempatkan alat pengukur tinggi gelombang yang ditempatkan di perairan Danau Toba, mirip seperti pelampung.
Untuk mengetahui pergerakan angin dan kecepatannya serta tinggi gelombang, pihak BMKG juga menempatkan beberapa display di sejumlah titik.
Soal informasi cuaca, pihaknya juga berkoordinasi dengan InJourney yang kemudian sebagai penyampai info kepada para racer. Prediksi cuaca di pagi hari sudah disampaikan malam sebelumnya.
Menurutnya, event tersebut amat dipengaruhi cuaca. Sehingga info cuaca amat penting.
Ia juga menjelaskan batas tinggi gelombang danau yang nyaman bagi para racer.
Jika gelombang tinggi di diatas 0,5 meter maka sudah pertandingan harus diberhentikan.
Selanjutnya, ia juga menyoal pelaksanaan event F1 Powerboat 2023.
Ia berharap cuaca hari ini kondusif berlangsungnya event F1 Powerboat.
