Pengamat politik yang juga Direktur Lingkar Madani (Lima), Ray Rangkuti lantas menyarankan Erick Thohir mundur dari jabatan Ketua Umum Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI)
Menurut Ray Rangkuti, jabatan Menpora yang diemban Erick Thohir kini memiliki tumpang tindih dengan jabatannya di federasi.
"(Menpora dan Ketua Umum PSSI) Itu dua job yang bisa saja tumpang tindih, kalau Menteri BUMN dengan PSSI masih bisa kita lihat jaraknya, tapi kalau dengan PSSI kira-kira jaraknya di mana?" ungkap Ray Rangkuti dalam program Overview Tribunnews, Rabu.
Menurut Ray, Menpora harus melindungi semua cabang olahraga di Indonesia.
Ray juga menyarankan Presiden Prabowo Subianto untuk menyarankan Erick untuk mundur dari Ketum PSSI.
Sehingga nantinya, ia akan fokus mengurus Menpora.
"Saya berharap ya Pak Erick mengundurkan diri dari Ketua PSSI, atau kalau tidak ya diminta oleh Presiden untuk yang bersangkutan mundur dari jabatan di PSSI-nya untuk dan fokus di Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga," ujarnya.
Terkait statusnya sebagai Ketum PSSI, Erick Thohir sebelumnya telah buka suara.
Dia mengatakan, masih menunggu keputusan dari organisasi induk sepakbola dunia, FIFA, terkait hal tersebut.
"Nanti itu kan ada prosesnya di FIFA. FIFA sebagai badan (sepakbola) tertinggi di dunia yang akan mengaturnya," katanya setelah pelantikan di Istana Negara, Jakarta.
Ketika ditanya apakah akan otomatis mundur sebagai Ketua PSSI, Erick enggan menjawabnya.
Dia kembali hanya menegaskan seluruh keputusan berada di tangan FIFA.
"Nanti FIFA yang akan bersurat. Semua aturan dari FIFA," katanya.
