Di balik dukungan terbuka itu, Trump menekan Netanyahu menerima kesepakatan dari konsultasi ekstensif dengan para pemimpin Arab dan negara Muslim saat pertemuan PBB.
Trump menghadapkan Netanyahu pada beberapa poin krusial yang sebelumnya ditolak keras oleh Israel.
Termasuk soal kemungkinan pembentukan negara Palestina.
Ketegangan memuncak saat Israel menyerang anggota Hamas di Qatar.
Lantas, serangan itu membuat Trump geram hingga mendorongnya menggalang persatuan negara-negara Arab agar tetap menyokong rencana damai.
Bahkan, Trump memaksa Netanyahu menelepon langsung pemimpin Qatar dari Ruang Oval untuk menyampaikan permintaan maaf.
