Plt Deputi Penindakan dan Eksekusi KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu menyatakan bahwa uang yang diserahkan Khalid Basalamah bukanlah uang suap.
Dia mengatakan, Khalid diperas agar calon jemaah bisa langsung berangkat haji khusus meski baru daftar. “Jadi itu (uang yang serahkan Khalid ke KPK) sebetulnya bukan suap. Karena inisiatifnya dari si oknum (Kemenag) itu. ‘Kamu kalau mau berangkat tahun ini, bayar dong uang percepatannya’. Itu sudah memeras,” kata Asep di Gedung Merah Putih, Jakarta, Kamis (18/9/2025).
