We Must Rethink How We Address Inclusion In Sustainability | Juliet Tse | TEDxCUHK
Juliet’s talk critiques mainstream sustainability efforts of the past two decades which are fixated on the concept of 'connection', fatally neglecting 'inclusion'. She argues that true progress requires active, equitable inclusion in decision-making processes. Drawing on her personal global experiences across climate philanthropy research, climate change and chairing Model United Nations, she proposes a new way of thinking and encourages the audience to engage with systems thinking. This combined approach changes the paradigm from a top-down, metrics-driven method to a human-centric process where inclusive participation results in effective, impactful results. Juliet is a young leader who is passionate about sustainability. She explores different perspectives on climate change through her experiences chairing international Model United Nations conferences and advising on UCL’s Net Zero Advisory Group. Her multidisciplinary exposure shapes her vision for integrating policy innovation and inclusive sustainability into practical solutions for climate resilience.Juliet’s talk critiques mainstream sustainability efforts of the past two decades, which are fixated on the concept of “connection,” fatally neglecting “inclusion.” She argues that true progress requires active, equitable inclusion in decision-making processes.
