Deborah Mason, yang dijuluki "Queen Bee" dan "nenek gangster", dinyatakan bersalah dalam persidangan di Pengadilan Mahkota Woolwich, London, Jumat (18/7/2025).
Jaksa menyebut Deborah sebagai otak utama dari sindikat yang mengedarkan hampir satu ton kokain senilai 80 juta poundsterling atau sekitar Rp 1,7 triliun.
Ia mengatur distribusi narkoba ke sejumlah kota seperti Cardiff, Leicester, Rotherham, dan wilayah London selatan.
Deborah tidak bekerja sendiri, Ia merekrut anggota keluarga seperti anak, saudara, dan teman-teman mereka untuk bergabung dalam kelompok yang terdiri dari setidaknya 10 orang.
Salah satu jaksa, Charlotte Hole, menyoroti bagaimana Mason melibatkan anak-anak dan kerabatnya ke dalam aktivitas ilegal ini.
Ironisnya, Deborah tetap menerima tunjangan sosial lebih dari £50.000 per tahun meski memperoleh keuntungan besar dari kejahatan.
