Sebelumnya, Noel dikenal vokal meminta agar koruptor dijatuhi hukuman mati.
Namun kini, ia justru terjerat kasus yang sama.
Usai ditetapkan tersangka, Noel meminta maaf kepada Presiden Prabowo, keluarga, dan masyarakat Indonesia.
Dengan wajah sembap, Noel mengaku menyesal dan berharap mendapat amnesti dari Presiden.
Ia juga menyampaikan permohonan maaf kepada istri dan anaknya yang terdampak kasus tersebut.
Pernyataan Noel menuai sorotan karena berbanding terbalik dengan sikap kerasnya di masa lalu.
“Saya meminta maaf kepada Presiden Pak Prabowo,” kata Noel saat memasuki mobil tahanan KPK di Gedung Merah Putih, Jumat sore.
“Semoga saya mendapat amnesti Presiden Prabowo,” tambahnya.
“Kedua, saya minta maaf kepada anak dan istri saya. Ketiga, saya minta maaf terhadap rakyat Indonesia,” lanjutnya.
KPK menyebut Noel menerima Rp3 miliar pada Desember 2024 dari manipulasi biaya penerbitan sertifikat K3.
Kasus ini masuk dalam skandal besar dengan total aliran dana Rp81 miliar.
