Ia langsung disambut meriah oleh kelompok pro-Palestina saat tiba di Athena pada Senin (6/10/2025).
Thunberg termasuk di antara 171 orang yang dideportasi oleh otoritas Israel setelah ditahan karena ikut serta dalam armada bantuan menuju Gaza.
Mereka diterbangkan ke Yunani dan Slovakia setelah dibebaskan.
Kementerian Luar Negeri Yunani mengonfirmasi kedatangan ratusan aktivis ini.
Aktivis ini termasuk yang berasal dari Yunani dan warga dari hampir 20 negara lainnya.
Setibanya di Athena, Thunberg langsung berbicara kepada khalayak di bandara.
Di sana, dirinya menegaskan jika Israel benar-benar melakukan genosida dan mengutuk tindakan tersebut.
Menurutnya, sistem Internasional telah mengkhianati Palestina.
Lebih lanjut, Thunberg menyindir dunia yang tak mampu mencegah terjadinya kejahatan perang.
"Sistem internasional kita mengkhianati Palestina. Mereka bahkan tidak mampu mencegah terjadinya kejahatan perang terburuk." ujar Thunberg.
Ia mengaku jika selama ditahan, Thunberg dan aktivis lainnya dianiaya.
Bahkan, mereka kekurangan tidur, kekurangan air dan makanan hingga dikurung di dalam kandang.
Menlu Swedia Maria Malmer Stenergard menyebut jika tuduhan penganiayaan kepada para aktivis sangat serius.
Swedia pun mengutuk tindakan yang diterima aktivisnya oleh Israel.
