Alexander Luchterhandt war in den 1990er Jahren ein wichtiger Tippgeber und Informations-Händler für die Polizeireporter der Berliner Medien. Aus seiner Wohnung am Anton-Saefkow-Platz hörte er mit professionellen Mitteln den Polizeifunk ab und verkaufte, was er dort erfuhr. Luchterhandt, der früher selbst im Gefängnis saß, hatte aber auch Verbindungen ins kriminelle Milieu. Am 8. Mai 2005 verschwindet er spurlos. Seine Leiche wird nie gefunden, mehreren zwischenzeitlich Verdächtigen kann nichts nachgewiesen werden. Der Fall bleibt ein Cold Case.
