Bahar bin Matar, menjadi terpidana mati kasus pembunuhan di Tembilahan, Riau pada tahun 1960-an.
Narapidana yang hampir setengah abad atau 43 tahun lamanya menghuni Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (LP) itu tak kunjung dieksekusi hingga meninggal dunia.
Sebelumnya, Bahar divonis mati oleh Pengadilan Negeri Bengkalis, Tembilahan, Riau pada 5 Maret 1970 .
Vonis tersebut dijatuhkan atas tindakan berat seperti perampokan, pembunuhan, pemerkosaan dan penculikan.
Bahar tercatat beberapa kali mengajukan grasi kepada presiden, namun selalu ditolak.
Awalnya Bahar mendekam di LP Cipinang hingga tahun 1983, kemudian dipindah ke LP Batu, Pulau Nusakambangan, Cilacap.
LP Cilacap tergolong lapas dengan pengamanan super ketat yang menampung narapidana kasus berat.
Meskipun sudah memiliki keputusan tetap, namun Kejaksaan Agung tidak menjalankan eksekusi vonis tersebut.
Dikabarkan, selama mendekam Bahar menderita tujuh penyakit kronis diantaranya TBC, paru-paru basah dan hipertensi yang membuatnya harus menjalani perawatan intensif di rumah sakit.
Bahar meregang nyawanya setelah puluhan tahun di dalam penjara, menunggu tanpa kepastian atas eksekusinya.
