Mercoledì mattina allo stadio Franchi è stata varata la prima trave di sostegno della nuova curva Fiesole che sorreggerà i gradoni dove si accomoderanno i tifosi e gli elementi della copertura che riparerà, oltre alla Fiesole, metà Maratona e la tribuna laterale. Un elemento dal perso di oltre 23 tonnellate che è stato posizionato sui setti in cemento armato grazie all'ausilio di una maxi autogru. Nei prossimi giorni saranno installati altri elementi analoghi già stoccati nell'aerea di cantiere.«Un momento cruciale – ha detto la sindaca Sara Funaro a margine della posa della trave – sono elementi importanti che andranno a sorreggere i gradoni, che sono già stati realizzati in fabbrica, e la copertura. Si tratta di un passaggio importante. Stanno continuando tutte le lavorazioni sia nella parte di costruzioni interne, sia nel restauro delle strutture originali.
