How do we feel about AI? Not just as a tool, not just as a convenience, but as a force that is beginning to shape war, surveillance, labor, and the very way human beings make decisions. Because that is the real question. What happens when we hand more and more of our judgment, our responsibility, and our future over to systems that do not understand human life?

In this talk, Adam Dunigan, a former Marine and ex-CIA case officer, walks through the urgent consequences of AI in national security and civil society. From autonomous drones on the battlefield to algorithmic surveillance at home, he argues that the danger is not only technological, but moral. Adam Dunigan is running for congress in Virginia's 8th Congressional District. He joined the Marine Corps out of high school, earned a master's degree from Harvard on the Gl Bill, and served undercover as a ClA case officer. Adam resigned from CIA in December 2025, cashed out his life savings, and launched his political campaign in January 2026. Within the first 4 months of his campaign, Adam became the second-most followed politician in Virginia behind Governor Spanberger. Since then, he has used his candidacy to push a progressive social and economic agenda. Adam's experience in the field as a human intelligence officer, during the advent of Al technology integration, provides unique insight on national security and emerging technologies. Adam has spoken at length on the campaign trail about the ethical dimensions of modern warfighting, the danger posed by runaway government surveillance, and the risk to global and national stability posed by massive job dislocation.
