Hal itu terkait kenaikan Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan (PBB) harus disesuaikan dengan kemampuan dan kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat.
Dikutip dari Kompas.com, pernyataan itu disampaikan Tito di Kompleks Parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat, Senin (18/8/2026).
"Saya sudah menggunakan kewenangan sebagai Menteri Dalam Negeri, memberikan surat edaran setiap kepala daerah betul-betul untuk menyesuaikan NJOP dan PBB, sesuaikankan dengan kemampuan masyarakat, keadaan sosial ekonomi masyarakat," ujarnya.
Langkah ini dilakukan menyusul kontroversi kenaikan PBB di Pati hingga 250 persen yang memicu kemarahan warga.
Tito menyatakan surat edaran tersebut menginstruksikan kepala daerah menyesuaikan Nilai Jual Objek Pajak (NJOP) dan PBB sesuai kemampuan masyarakat setempat.
Jika kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat tidak mendukung, kepala daerah harus menunda atau membatalkan kenaikan PBB.
Upaya ini untuk mencegah dampak negatif terhadap warga yang kurang mampu.
