Siswa tersebut didaftarkan melalui jalur mutasi setelah sebelumnya menempuh pendidikan di SMA wilayah Tengah Tani, Cirebon.
Pendaftaran sempat terkendala karena ijazah MTs-nya tertahan akibat tunggakan biaya sebesar Rp 2 juta.
Dedi menyebut ijazah itu telah ditebus setelah ajudannya menemui pihak sekolah dan pesantren tempat siswa belajar sebelumnya.
Hal itu disampaikan Dedi melalui media sosialnya, Senin (9/6/2025).
Selain itu, Dedi menyampaikan bahwa biaya rumah sakit, seragam, hingga pendidikan ke depan akan ditanggung oleh Pemprov Jawa Barat.
Ia menegaskan bahwa seluruh anak di Jawa Barat berhak mendapat pendidikan hingga tingkat SMA tanpa halangan biaya.
Selain itu, Dedi juga menyoroti kebijakan pelarangan studi tur, perpisahan, dan outing class yang membebani siswa tidak mampu.
Menurutnya, kebutuhan pendidikan seharusnya tidak dicampur dengan tuntutan gaya hidup konsumtif yang tidak relevan.
Saat ini proses penerimaan murid baru di Jawa Barat sedang berlangsung dan ia berharap berjalan lancar bagi semua siswa.
