El sábado 25 de abril de 2026 tuvo lugar el II encuentro solidario Euskal Herria-Venezuela, que incluyó una comida popular en el frontón de Astigarraga, en la provincia vasca de Gipuzkoa.
Los actos se desarrollaron en un ambiente reivindicativo y de fraternidad internacionalista. La apertura la protagonizó la txalaparta, como instrumento tradicional de Euskal Herria, para pasar luego a diversas intervenciones de lecturas poéticas, bertsolaris (improvisadores de versos en euskara, lengua vasca), textos políticos y las intervenciones del militante palestino Fouad Baker, la viceministra de Comunas y Movimientos Sociales de Venezuela Albanys Montilla y la cónsul general en Bilbao Glenna Cabello.
Se saludo y recordó a los pueblos que luchan por su soberanía, enfrentándose al imperialismo; con menciones especiales a Palestina, Cuba, Líbano e Irán. Y sin olvidar la agresión sufrida por Venezuela el 3 de enero y la necesidad de seguir luchando por la liberación de Nicolás Maduro y Cilia Flores, secuestrados en EE. UU.
Tras la comida popular, gran parte de las personas presentes se dirigieron a Donostia (San Sebastián) para participar en la manifestación convocada por la iniciativa ciudadana Gernika-Palestina contra el genocidio en Palestina y por la paz.
La convocatoria llega dos años después del primer encuentro solidario entre Euskal Herria (País Vasco) y Venezuela, una iniciativa que buscó estrechar los lazos entre ambos pueblos y reforzar la cooperación internacionalista. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
