Secondo l'ex ministra, la Presidente del Consiglio starebbe attraversando un periodo tutt'altro che sereno, arrivando a ipotizzare con una punta di ironia che possa addirittura "soffrire d'insonnia" per le preoccupazioni. Il punto centrale della riflessione della Fornero riguarda l'esito del recente referendum, che a suo avviso ha agito come un vero e proprio specchio della realtà: il voto ha fatto emergere una netta mancanza di sintonia tra la visione della Premier e il sentire comune del Paese. Per l'economista, questa bocciatura nelle urne è la prova tangibile di un cortocircuito: il governo sta portando avanti un'agenda e dei progetti che, alla prova dei fatti, non incontrano il favore o la volontà degli italiani.
