Johnson menilai, Biden yang kini sudah berusia 81 tahun tidak mampu berdebat dengan Donald Trump.
Penampilan Presiden AS dalam debat pada Kamis (27/6/2024) secara luas dipandang sebagai bencana.
Publik menyoroti kondisi Biden yang tampak lemah dan berulang kali gagap menyusun kalimat.
Menurut laporan media, Partai Demokrat yang mengusung Biden panik setelah debat tersebut.
Sejumlah pihak bahkan menuntut agar Biden dicoret dari daftar kandidat partai untuk Pilpres 5 November nanti.
Sementara itu, Johnson beranggapan bahwa Biden juga harus dicopot dari jabatannya.
Sebab, hal ini menyangkut masalah negara di mana seorang presiden dinilai tak mampu lagi menjalankan tugas.
"Kita punya masalah serius di sini, karena kita punya presiden yang tampaknya tidak mampu menjalankan tugasnya," kata Johnson, dikutip dari RT, Sabtu (29/6/2024).
Johnson mengatakan, pemerintah dapat memaksa Biden untuk mundur dengan menggunakan Amandemen ke-25.
Jika presiden menolak, keputusan akhir tentang masalah tersebut akan dibuat oleh Kongres.
Namun, Amandemen tersebut belum pernah digunakan dalam sejarah AS.
