Ethiopia and Somalia Rebuild Fragile Ties | Firstpost Africa | N18GEthiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited Somalia on Thursday to hold talks with President Hassan Mohamud in a bid to improve diplomatic ties. Both leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation for mutual benefit. They also expressed their commitment to implementing strategic infrastructure projects that ensured sustainable development and economic integration. The high-level meeting comes days after top diplomats from the two rival countries held the first round of technical talks in Turkiye that were aimed at resolving their dispute that was spurred by Addis Ababa’s port deal with Somaliland, Somalia’s breakaway region.
