Soll Ungesundes teurer werden? Höhere Steuern auf Tabak, Alkohol und zuckerhaltige Getränke sollen den Konsum bremsen und zugleich zusätzliche Einnahmen bringen. Doch wie weit darf der Staat dabei in persönliche Entscheidungen eingreifen?Reporter Stefan Ganß hat sich in Naumburg in Sachsen-Anhalt umgehört. Dabei prallen zwei Sichtweisen aufeinander: Die einen halten höhere Preise für ein sinnvolles Mittel, um gesundheitsschädlichen Konsum zu reduzieren. Andere pochen auf Eigenverantwortung und lehnen weitere staatliche Eingriffe ab.
Fast 26.000 Menschen haben außerdem bei MDRfragt ihre Meinung abgegeben. 69 Prozent begrüßen eine höhere Tabaksteuer. Eine Steuer auf zuckergesüßte Getränke sowie eine höhere Alkoholsteuer befürworten jeweils 67 Prozent der Befragten.
Wie sich höhere Abgaben konkret auf Unternehmen auswirken könnten, zeigt der Blick nach Freyburg: Bei Rotkäppchen-Mumm spricht Stefan Ganß mit Matthias Baum über die geplante Erhöhung der Schaumweinsteuer und mögliche Folgen für Preise und Absatz.
