Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan dalam acara Media Gathering yang digelar secara daring pada Jumat (10/10/2025).
Purbaya menjelaskan bahwa proyek Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) berada di bawah Danantara yang memiliki manajemen dan sumber pendapatan sendiri.
"Kan KCIC di bawah Danantara kan, kalau di bawah Danantara kan mereka sudah punya manajemen sendiri, sudah punya dividen sendiri yang rata-rata setahun bisa Rp80 triliun atau lebih. Harusnya mereka manage dari situ, jangan ke kita lagi, karena kalau enggak, ya, semuanya ke kita lagi, termasuk dividennya," ujarnya.
Ia menilai Danantara seharusnya mampu mengelola pembiayaan proyek tersebut tanpa kembali membebani pemerintah.
Selain itu, Purbaya mengatakan dengan dividen yang rata-rata mencapai Rp80 triliun per tahun, Danantara memiliki kemampuan finansial yang cukup untuk menanggung kewajiban proyek.
Pasalnya, pemerintah ingin agar pengelolaan proyek besar seperti Whoosh dilakukan secara mandiri dan efisien oleh badan usaha terkait.
