Dalam pengakuannya Kompol Cosmas menyatakan tak memiliki niat untuk mencederai orang.
Ia mengatakan tindakannya itu karena menjalankan tugas sesuai perintah.
Kompol Cosmas mengatakan dirinya berusaha menjaga keamanan seluruh anggota di dalam rantis.
Kompol Cosmas sempat menangis di persidangan dan meminta maaf kepada keluarga Affan Kurniawan dan Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo karena lali menjalanklan tugas.
Sementara itu, Komisioner Kompolnas , Muhammad Choirul Anam, mengungkapkan bahwa Komandan Batalyon Resimen IV Korps Brimob Polri itu baru mengetahui rantis melindas Affan Kurniawan setelah sampai di markas Brimob.
Diketahui, Kompol Cosmas duduk di sebelah kursi kemudi Rantis, saat mobil tersebut menabrak dan melindas Affan saat demo DPR ricuh, Kamis (28/8/2025).
Saat itu, armada Rantis Brimob Polda Metro Jaya melaju kencang di tengah kerumunan massa, kemudian menabrak Affan dari belakang dengan keras, mobil tersebut tampak berhenti sejenak, tetapi melaju kembali hingga melindas Affan.
Namun, ternyata, setelah sidang Komisi Kode Etik Polri (KKEP) yang dijalani oleh Kompol Cosmas hari ini, Rabu (3/9/2025), terungkap dia baru tahu Rantis melindas Affan dari teman-temannya dan setelah dia melihat di media sosial.
