Nike Air Huarache 2K4 Legacy Commercial

The Nike Air Huarache 2K4 was designed by Eric Avar, with an element of inspiration stemming from the Nike Air Force 1. This shoe made its star turn once Kobe Bryant—who'd recently come over to team Nike after leaving adidas—chose it as his go-to sneaker for the latter portion of the 2003-04 season. Bryant would segue from the Huarache to his own signature line the following season.

The Huarache name, first used by a Tinker Hatfield-designed Nike shoe line produced in the early '90s, stems from the term used to describe a traditional sandal with Mexican and/or Native American roots.
