UKRAINE-KRIEG: Feuerpause bald möglich! "Substantielle Fortschritte!" Macron besucht Trump!Das internationale Ringen in Vorbereitung einer möglichen Friedenslösung für die Ukraine nimmt Fahrt auf. Frankreichs Staatschef Emmanuel Macron hält nach einem Besuch bei US-Präsident Donald Trump wie sein Gastgeber eine Feuerpause in der Ukraine binnen weniger Wochen für machbar - trotz noch immer deutlicher Differenzen zwischen den USA und Europa, etwa bei der Frage von Sicherheitsgarantien für die Ukraine. Der Richtungsstreit wurde auch bei den Vereinten Nationen offen ausgetragen.
Frankreich und Großbritannien verzichteten im UN-Sicherheitsrat auf ein Veto und verhalfen damit einer von den USA vorgelegten und mit den Stimmen unter anderem von Russland und China beschlossenen Resolution zum Erfolg, deren Inhalt moskaufreundlich ausfiel. Ein Vorschlag, der Russland als Aggressor in dem Konflikt bezeichnet, erhielt nicht die Stimme der USA - und scheiterte.
