Dalam keterangan pada Rabu (5/6/2024) di IKN, Jokowi menyebut pengunduran diri keduanya karena alasan pribadi.
Untuk itu Jokowi menyarankan awak media untuk menanyakan langsung pada Bambang dan Dhony.
Lebih lanjut Jokowi menyebut bahwa dirinya memberikan penugasan baru untuk Bambang Susantono sebagai utusan khusus kerja sama internasional dalam rangka mempercepat pembangunan IKN.
Menurut Jokowi, posisi ini cocok untuk Bambang karena pengalamannya di kancah internasional.
