How can hobbies actually boost your academic preparation?
Many students make the very big mistake of spending almost their entire time only studying. They do not develop any hobbies or side interests. This can actually be harmful.In this video, I first discuss three points on why it can be harmful. The irony is that spending all the time studying can actuall hamper academics!
I then discuss what are some of the kinds of hobbies that they can take up ranging from sports, music, arts, co-curricular things like electronics, DIY, programming etc.
I also suggest that those who do not have any special interests, can take up reading and writing as a hobby. Reading and writing can not only be tremendously fullfilling personally, but they can give one a competitive edge professionally.
I also mention that preparing for Olympiads can itself be considered a side interest.
