La montagna non è solo un luogo da raggiungere o da cui scendere: è uno specchio in cui guardarsi e un orizzonte capace di amplificare la nostra sensibilità verso il mondo.In questo talk racconto come la passione per le alte quote, nata nell’infanzia, sia diventata un percorso di ricerca interiore, un impegno concreto per la tutela del territorio e un modo di raccontare attraverso il cinema documentario. Un cammino che nel 2021 mi ha portato a fondare Apuane Libere, per contrastare l’estrattivismo incontrollato.
Dalla ricerca antropologica nelle aree interne a Endless Peaks — la traversata delle Alpi di corsa in 60 giorni, lungo 2.500 chilometri e 150.000 metri di dislivello — emerge un filo comune: la sfida non è contro la natura, ma con se stessi. E i sogni sono ciò che continua a spingere lo sguardo oltre ogni vetta. Francesco Tomè ha 26 anni e ha fatto della corsa in montagna e del racconto per immagini il suo lavoro e la sua passione. Un anno fa ha attraversato l’intero arco alpino in 60 giorni, correndo in media una maratona al giorno. Racconta le sue avventure attraverso documentari che avvicinano le persone alla corsa e alla montagna e le sensibilizzano sui temi che le riguardano. Ama anche stare dietro la videocamera e raccontare le storie degli altri. Ha fondato Apuane Libere, associazione che da sette anni si impegna nella difesa del territorio delle Alpi Apuane, segnato dall’estrazione del marmo.
