Військовослужбовці і ветерани, які отримали важкі поранення і потребують відновлення, очікують у черзі, щоб потрапити у реабілітаційні центри. Тим часом фізичні терапевти шукають креативні методи відновлення, щоб люди, які пройшли війну, повернулись до самостійного життя в суспільстві. Ефективною є реабілітаційні заняття, які проводять поза центрами.Як у кріслі колісному, з руками, які не повністю функціонують, доїхати громадським транспортом у крамницю, дати собі раду з купівлею продуктів? Як на протезах на обох ногах почуватись повноцінним у суспільстві і втілити свою мрію, для прикладу, піднятись на львівську Ратушу?
Чи не щодня реабілітологи виходять з таким пацієнтами у магазини чи на вуличні прогулянки, аби навчити пацієнтів користуватись ліфтом чи ескалатором, здійснити закупи, і банально перебороти свій страх бути у суспільстві, серед людей. Лікарі кажуть: у безпечних умовах центрів реабілітації ветерани швидко опановують нові навички, але за його межами стикаються з непристосованістю міського простору та невпевненістю у власних силах.
