Terkait dengan insiden tersebut, pihak Brimob Polda Maluku menyampaikan permintaan maaf.
Wadanki 3 Batalyon B Pelopor Satbrimob Polda Maluku Ipda Fadli Hasan dalam keterangannya menjelaskan, insiden ini bermula dari keributan di sebuah pesta.
Menurut Fadli, pihaknya berusaha menyelesaikan masalah dengan Ketua Pemuda setempat, namun tiba-tiba situasi memburuk di luar kendali.
Fadli memastikan 17 anggota Brimob yang terlibat kini sudah diamankan.
Saat ini mereka menunggu arah dari Komandan Satbrimob Polda Maluku untuk proses lebih lanjut.
Belasan anggota Brimob tersebut berpotensi mendapat sanksi tegas jika terbukti bersalah setelah penyelidikan internal usai.
Sebelumnya ratusan warga mendatangi Markas Kompi Brimob di Kota Bula pada Senin (22/9) siang.
Penggerudukan ini dipicu dugaan pengeroyokan warga oleh sejumlah personel Brimob.
Dalam pantauan di lokasi, tampak seorang warga bernama Abdul Haji Rumaday yang mengenakan pakaian dinas ASN yang ikut dalam aksi.
Abdul Haji tampak mengalami luka di bagian wajahnya akibat tindak kekerasan.
Menurut kesaksian Abdul Haji, insiden bermula saat ia berusaha menengahi keributan oleh oknum Brimob yang sedang mabuk di sebuah pesta di kawasan Lumba-lumba, Kota Bula, Sabtu (20/9).
