Hal itu dibenarkan oleh Kanit PPA Satreskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Timur, AKP Sri Yatmini pada Senin (22/9).
Istri dari tersangka inisial MA ini dilaporkan meninggal setelah menerima perawatan medis yang intensif pada Minggu (21/9), sekira pukul 07.00 WIB.
Menurut Sri, semasa hidupnya, tersangka sering melakukan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT) kepada istrinya.
Berdasarkan penuturan korban saat masih hidup, MA dikenal sebagai pribadi yang tempramental dan sering memukuli korban saat terjadi cekcok.
Adapun diketahui sebelumya, Siti dilaporkan dibakar oleh suaminya pada Sabtu (20/9).
Motif dari aksi yang dilakukan oleh tersangka dipicu adanya kecemburuan dan bukan faktor pencurian sepeda seperti yang viral beberapa waktu lalu.
Pelaku sudah ditangkap di Cakung Timur, Jaktim oleh pihak kepolisian.
Seusai ditangkap ia dikenakan UU PKDRT Pasal 44 ayat 2 dan 3, Pasal 340 KUHB tentang pembunuhan berencana.
Selain itu ia juga dikenakan Pasal 351 ayat 2 dan ayat 3 KUHP dengan ancaman pidana mati atau seumur hidup, paling singkat 20 tahun penjara.
