Mahyeldi mengimbau semua pihak menahan diri dan tidak terprovokasi oleh informasi yang simpang siur terkait insiden yang terjadi pada Minggu (27/7/2025) tersebut.
Ia menegaskan, permasalahan itu telah diselesaikan pihak berwenang dan tidak seharusnya diperpanjang dengan informasi yang menyesatkan.
"Kita minta semua pihak menahan diri dan tidak terprovokasi dengan informasi yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Ini penting untuk menjaga kondusivitas di tengah masyarakat," ujar Mahyeldi kepada wartawan di Padang, Selasa (29/7/2025).
Mahyeldi menjelaskan, seluruh pihak dari tingkat kelurahan, kecamatan, hingga provinsi sudah menjalankan fungsinya dengan baik dalam penyelesaian insiden tersebut.
Ia pun mengimbau masyarakat mempercayakan penyelesaian indikasi pelanggaran hukum kepada aparat penegak hukum.
Sebagai informasi, aksi perusakan rumah doa di Kelurahan Padang Sarai, Kecamatan Koto Tangah, Kota Padang itu terjadi pada Minggu (27/7/2025).
Dalam video yang beredar di media sosial, sejumlah orang terlihat melempari rumah doa dengan batu dan kayu hingga memecahkan kaca-kaca jendela.
Perempuan dan anak-anak yang berada di dalam bangunan itu berhamburan keluar sambil menangis.
Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Barat pun telah menangkap sembilan orang yang diduga terlibat dalam perusakan rumah doa tersebut.
