Pelaku utama, Reno (36), warga Batam, akhirnya mengakui perbuatannya dan mengungkapkan bahwa ia sudah mengincar korban selama empat tahun.
Dengan tangan terborgol dan mengenakan baju tahanan Polrestabes Palembang, Reno menyampaikan bahwa motif di balik aksi kejinya adalah dendam lama.
Ia mengaku telah menyimpan dendam sejak tahun 2019, ketika dirinya dibacok oleh korban tanpa sebab yang jelas.
"Sudah 4 tahun, Pak, saya incar. Karena jika tidak hari perayaan nikah itu pasti tidak bertemu, korban ketika dicari sering menghilang," ungkap Reno kepada petugas saat gelar perkara di Polrestabes Palembang, Senin (2/5/2025) sore.
Reno menjelaskan, momen pernikahan korban adalah satu-satunya kesempatan yang ia yakini untuk bisa bertemu dengan Ahmad Handa.
"Saat itu saya mengincar korban. Ketika dirinya keluar dari mobil, saat itulah saya langsung melakukan aksi pembacokan tersebut," ujarnya.
Ia menambahkan, sebelum melancarkan aksinya, ia sempat hendak menuju rumah mertua dan melihat keramaian di lokasi kejadian, yang ternyata adalah pesta pernikahan korban.
