Peristiwa ini dikenal sebagai Carok Massal Pamekasan 2006, salah satu carok paling brutal dalam sejarah Madura.
Konflik bermula dari sengketa tanah percaton seluas 5,8 hektar, tanah desa, yang diperdebatkan kepemilikannya antara H. Mursyidin, Kepala Desa saat itu, dan H. Baidlowi, mantan Kepala Desa.
Mursyidin menilai proses tukar guling tanah yang dilakukan Baidlowi tidak sah dan melaporkannya ke polisi.
Namun, ketegangan memuncak ketika Mursyidin dan pendukungnya hendak bertemu Baidlowi.
Mereka justru dihadang oleh ratusan orang bersenjata tajam yang diduga pendukung Baidlowi.
Bentrokan pun terjadi di lahan yang disengketakan.
Akibat serangan tersebut, tujuh orang tewas, termasuk H. Mursyidin dan ibunya.
Puluhan lainnya mengalami luka-luka.
Perempuan yang menjadi korban membuat peristiwa ini tidak lagi disebut carok murni, melainkan kriminalitas massal.
Polisi menangkap belasan pelaku, termasuk H. Baidlowi yang sempat bersembunyi di hutan.
Mereka dijatuhi hukuman penjara hingga 13 tahun.
Tragedi ini meninggalkan luka mendalam di masyarakat Madura, menjadi pengingat bahwa sengketa tanah yang tidak terselesaikan dengan bijak bisa berujung pada kekerasan mematikan.
