I built a compact 2-in-1 cyclone dust collection system for my workshop using a piece of pipe, plywood, and a surprisingly simple mechanical switching mechanism.The goal was simple: connect two different tools to one cyclone system and switch the airflow between them with a single lever.
Instead of using expensive automatic valves or complicated electronics, I decided to build the entire switching mechanism from plywood.
The result is a compact workshop dust collector that can control two separate dust collection ports.
But will a homemade plywood mechanism actually control the airflow properly?
