Clashes in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Leave 2 Dead, Dozens Injured | Spotlight | N18GMassive protests erupted in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Muzaffarabad on Monday, leaving at least two dead and 22 injured in clashes with security forces. The demonstrations, led by the Awami Action Committee, were part of a region-wide “shut down and wheel jam” strike demanding subsidised flour, fair power tariffs, and the abolition of 12 legislative seats reserved for refugees in Pakistan. Protesters accused successive governments of denying fundamental rights for over 70 years. Internet and phone services were partially shut down, while thousands of troops were deployed. The unrest, among the largest in PoK in recent years, quickly spread to other districts.
