The movie takes us back to the early days of the Mirzapur story, with Kaleen Bhaiya running his empire, Guddu and Bablu finding their place in his world, and Munna dealing with his father's expectations. Ravi Kishan enters the picture as Babban Yadav and brings a new threat into the power struggle.
The biggest reason this #MirzapurMovie works is that it knows exactly what fans came for: the dialogues, humour, violence, one-upmanship and, most importantly, the bhaukaal.
Divyenndu is fantastic as Munna, Ali Fazal works brilliantly as Guddu, Pankaj Tripathi is effortlessly brilliant as Kaleen Bhaiya, and Ravi Kishan brings the unpredictability the antagonist needs.
The climax is another major highlight. It delivers the mass, humour and fan service while still keeping enough tension to make you wonder what could happen next.
But the biggest issue for me is the runtime. The movie is longer than it needs to be, and cutting 30 to 40 minutes could have made it tighter and more entertaining. Some beats also feel familiar because the film inevitably recreates dynamics fans already know from the Mirzapur web series.
And honestly, I just wanted more Munna Bhaiya, because every time Divyenndu shows up, he steals the scene.
