Iran Rules Out Direct Nuclear Talks with US Amid New Sanctions | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18GIran has ruled out direct talks with the United States on its nuclear programme. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made this announcement after meeting his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Tehran. "Iran's position regarding nuclear talks is clear and we will not negotiate under pressure and sanctions," Araghchi said during a televised joint press conference with Lavrov. This comes just a day after Washington imposed a fresh round of sanctions targeting Iran's oil industry, which is the country's main source of income. Last month, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Moscow and signed a strategic partnership treaty with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
