Pemerinah Turki mengecam keras langkah pasukan Israel yang melakukan pembajakan terhadap Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) tersebut.
Dari laporan Komiter Internasional, Angkatan Laut Israel mencegat tiga kapal yang tergabung dalam misi FFC tersebut.
Armada ini berlayar menuju ke jalur Gaza dengan membawa bantuan kemanusiaan.
Pencegatan itu terjadi di perairan internasional berjarak sekitar 120 mil laut, atau sekitar 222 kilometer, dari pantai Jalur Gaza pada Rabu (9/10) pagi.
Otoritas Ankara memastikan bahwa anggota parlemen Turki ada di dalam kapal tersebut saat pembajakan.
Kementerian Luar Negeri Turki juga menegaskan bahwa pencegatan tersebut adalah serangan Zionis yang melanggar hukum internasional.
"Serangan terhadap para aktivis sipil ini, termasuk warga negara dan anggota parlemen Turki, merupakan pelanggaran berat terhadap hukum internasional," sebut Kementerian Luar Negeri Turki dalam pernyataannya.
Pencegatan yang dilakukan Israel itu terekam dalam tayangan live streaming pada akun YouTube koalisi tersebut.
Pada satu momen, terlihat tentara Israel berupaya merusak kamera pada salah satu kapal itu dengan senjata.
