Außenminister Wadephul zu unangekündigtem Besuch in der Ukraine

Deutschland hat der Ukraine weitere Unterstützung zugesagt. Wie Außenminister Johann Wadephul (CDU) bei einem Besuch in Kiew mitteilte, stellt die Bundesregierung zusätzlich 50 Millionen Euro für humanitäre Hilfe bereit. Hilfsorganisationen sollen das Geld nutzen, um vor allem in den Frontgebieten Wohnungen instandzusetzen sowie Heizkörper und sanitäre Anlagen bereitzustellen.

Wadephul ging auch auf den Mangel an Luftabwehrraketen beim ukrainischen Militär ein. Der Außenminister sagte, er führe darüber Gespräche mit europäischen und außereuropäischen Partnern.

Konkrete Zusagen, etwa über neue Patriot-Abfangraketen, machte er nicht. Die Ukraine steht in mehrfacher Hinsicht unter Druck. Neben den fehlenden Luftabwehrraketen leidet das Militär an einem Mangel an Soldat:innen. Die russischen Angriffe auf den Hafen von Odessa haben außerdem Ein- und Ausfuhren auf dem Seeweg stark eingeschränkt.
